Here at ILLUMINATE we have been working hard on creating our first showcase. The showcase is a reflection on all of my pieces created over the years, they have been restyled and adapted. With both our Junior and adult groups dancing, it will be a fantastic night. Celebrating dance in our community and bringing people together is our mission. The Mission

My dancing journey evolved at age 13, simply because two dance teachers from Davison High School encouraged me to join the lunch time dance club. From there my life changed forever. I went from being a confused looked after child to then having an outlet and sense of escapism. Dance saved my life, I wish to help others lean on the arts as a positive coping strategy just like dance gave me.

My Journey

My dance training timeline: Brighton Centre for advanced training (CAT) scheme (2011-2012.) GCSE Dance at Davison High School (2012-2014.) London Contemporary Dance School CAT Scheme (2012-2016.) A Level Dance - BHASVIC (2014-2016.) Ceyda Tanc Youth Dance Company (2015-2016.) BA Hons - year 1 Northern School of Contemporary Dance (2016-2017.) During my training I was fortunate enough to work with some inspiring choreographers: Matthew Bourne, Yael Flexer, Joss Arnott, Ceyda Tanc and James Wilton. Over the past few years I found a new love of supporting young people with their mental health, I have competed my mental health first aider course and have also recently become a Certified Trauma Informed Practitioner. I am on a journey to combine both passions to create a Theraputic Arts hub for our community.
